Campus 244

Campus 244, developed by The Georgetown Company and RocaPoint Partners, is an adaptive-reuse development located in Atlanta’s Central Perimeter district.

Tasked with designing a 6,600 sq ft building that would tie well into the development’s masterplan, FROM designed a new two-story retail space at the center of the site to relate directly to the central plaza, creating an extension of public space for the various types of users on site.

The articulation of the building’s volume involves forming a two-story framed archway with an elevated courtyard clad in glass and large-scale wood members. Together, these natural and transparent materials invite the user in, as the building serves to be a focal point for the end of the plaza, while also offering various types of private space.

The use of materials seen on the façade ties into this design intent, as the combination of timber, stone, glass, and greenery help the structure make a soft transition between the adjacent buildings and the common green space in front.
